House with the Stripes
Inspired by the stripes on a beach towel lying on warm golden sands, this 1960s two storey beach house was renovated from top to toe, to create a welcoming family home.
The striped effect was hand-painted by a very patient painter, in an area which had originally been a squash court, built adjacent to the original house in the 1960s.
A mezzanine floor was added to the squash court to create an entire guest wing, all accessed through a "secret door" bookcase from the main house.
The original kidney shaped pool was completely renovated with new linings, machinery and and hard landscaping to accentuate the 1960s lines.
Landscape design included extensive children's play areas & a new tennis court.
